Woman in white dress in Cartagena's colonial streets at golden hour

Our story

Born from the light of Cartagena

Mar y Seda is a women's fashion label rooted in the colours, textures, and unhurried rhythm of Colombia's Caribbean coast.

Woman in elegant resort fashion by the Caribbean coast

The beginning

Where sea meets silk

Mar y Seda — sea and silk — was born from a simple conviction: that the most beautiful clothes are the ones that feel as good as the place that inspired them.

Founded in Cartagena de Indias, the label draws from the city's layered identity — colonial stone walls draped in bougainvillea, the shimmer of the Caribbean at dusk, the ease of a life lived close to the water.

Every piece is designed to move with you: from a morning walk through the Walled City to an evening on a rooftop terrace, from the pool to a candlelit dinner. Resort dressing, reimagined with intention.

What we stand for

The principles behind the label

Made in Colombia

Every piece is designed and crafted in Colombia, working with skilled local artisans and premium regional fabrics.

Intentional design

We design for real moments — pieces that transition effortlessly from day to evening, from beach to city.

Slow fashion

We produce in small, considered quantities. Quality over volume, always.

Rooted in place

Cartagena is not just our home — it is our palette, our muse, and the spirit behind every collection.

The inspiration

Cartagena de Indias

Cartagena's colonial walled city — cobblestone streets and colourful facades

Few cities in the world carry beauty so effortlessly. Cartagena's Walled City is a living canvas — ochre and terracotta facades, iron balconies spilling with flowers, cobblestone streets that open without warning onto the sea.

It is a city that dresses well. Women here move with a particular grace — unhurried, confident, at home in the heat. That ease is what we design for.

Collection 01 is our first love letter to this place. Each piece is named for a corner of the city we return to again and again: Brisa, Bahía, Muralla, Amanecer.
